Author Jake Ootes is a former reporter who was Stuart Hodgson’s executive assistant and then Director of the Territorial Department of Information, responsible for all government public affairs and communications. In 1995, Ootes was elected to the Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories and later appointed Minister of Education, Culture and Employment. You will now find Ootes on his 80 acre farm in British Columbia where he owns and operates an a award winning winery, established in 2010.
